2020-11 Don’t Quit Before the Miracle

DON’T QUIT BEFORE THE MIRACLE.

We have all probably gone through the glass door of a store, medical facility or other building that automatically opens. Have you ever had the uneasy feeling as you get closer and closer to the door that it is not going to open quickly enough before your body hits it? But invariably, it does open. Sometimes, we think that we have only one more step before we collide with the seemingly stubborn structure; we may even slightly slow down; then suddenly, to our relief, the door opens wide welcoming us in.

If we had turned back in those circumstances, we would have missed whatever we were trying to do all because we did not trust and wait just a little longer for the proper time. And so, it is with God’s timing and the miracles waiting for us. Imagine how many times in our lives and the lives of our Christian brothers and sisters that we have quit right before the miracle!

If you are in harmony with our heavenly Father and His word and are expecting a miracle, then go all the way to the door having faith that He is going to open it. Paul tells us in Galatians 6:9, “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”

Imagine if the butterfly could become frustrated and give up during its stages from a wormy caterpillar to its miraculous, beautiful destiny. Of course, it can’t and doesn’t; it just does exactly what its creator purposed it to do.

Waiting for the miracle can often be agonizing but don’t despair. Rushing the automatic glass door (keeping with our analogy) can have disastrous results. Our miracles can only take place in God’s perfect timing. If you become weary while waiting, meditate on the words of Isaiah 40:29-31: “He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”
