In 1955, a few months after the West Virginia Turnpike officially opened and WOAY-TV began broadcasting in the city of Greentown, WV, the Ritchie & Johnson Funeral Parlor, Inc. was founded in Beckley, WV, by friends, William O. Ritchie, Sr. and James F. Johnson, Sr.

For more than 70 years, the Ritchie & Johnson Funeral Parlor has provided thoughtful, exemplary service at its original address at 748 S. Fayette Street in Beckley, WV.

Over the years, it has become one of the most respected, preferred funeral providers in the state of West Virginia. This distinguished reputation has been achieved through the compassion and high level of professionalism that we bring to every service. As a family-owned business and lifelong residents of the area in which the Ritchie & Johnson Funeral Parlor is located, we feel a special connection with the families who choose us.

We are somehow connected through school, community, churches, the parents, grandparents, and elders who have gone before us, and the children, grandchildren, and young ones who come after us. We will remain dedicated to handling your funeral arrangements with gentleness and sensitivity, guiding you and those who mean so much to you through the stages of this most special journey.
