Obituary For Bishop Clara Annette Wilson

Bishop Clara Annette “Bunny” Wilson, 87 of Beckley, was born to Mason and Virginia Powell on December 9, 1935 in Stanaford WV.

Clara went home to her savior on Friday, September 1, 2023, following a short illness.

Clara Annette Wilson was saved at a young age and was called to the ministry in 1965. After serving as assistant pastor for a number of years, she became pastor of the Church of the Living God in 2001.

Clara, ten years later, was elevated yet again and was consecrated as Bishop in the Lord's church in 2011. Before she passed away, she left this testimony, that she is “saved, and ready to meet Jesus.”

Bishop Wilson was a trained seamstress.
Bishop was an accomplished cook. Her grandchildren each had a favorite
dish that they loved her for. However, she was best known for her hummingbird cake and sweet potato pies! In fact, her great grandkids began calling her "Grandma Peaches" because she would bake peach cobblers for them in the summertime. She definitely was anointed to cook!

Bishop Wilson was preceded in death by her husband, Anderson Wilson Sr.; sisters, Norma Cain, Irene Wilkes, and Patricia Braxton; grandson, Larew Wilson and great-grandson, Tevin Jackson.

Bishop Wilson leaves to cherish her memory her brother, Vona Powell of
Huntington WV; sister, Flora Edwards; six children, Bishop Ann Oglesby
(Wayne Sr.) and Pastor Marie Moten, both of Beckley, WV, Bertha Oglesby
(Michael Sr.) of Princeton WV, Anderson Wilson Jr. (Barbara), Kamara Hill
of Portsmouth, VA and Darell Wilson (Tyna) of Charlotte, NC. She also leaves 22 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren:16 great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral service will be 12:00PM Friday, September 15, 2023 at Heart of God Ministries 1703 S. Kanawha St. Beckley. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity.

Friends, while wearing masks and observing social distancing, may view and visit with the family one-hour prior.
