Obituaries – Their Stories Live On

Deacon James R. ôJimö Moore, Jr.,78, of Lanark, WV died Sunday, February 4, 2018.

Born June 22, 1939 in Stanaford, WV, he was the son of the late James and Mary Sue Daniels Moore.

A Stratton High School Graduate, he served in US Navy, worked for Loycano General Contractor Service, Corona, NY and was a member and Deacon of Second Baptist Church (Manna House Ministries).

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Janie L Moore; brother, Abner E. Moore, sisters, Dora Cousin, Mary Brown and Connie Scott; nephews, Anthony and Gregory Poole and nieces, Brenda Caffee and Donna Campbell.

Left to cherish precious memories are his son, Larry Moore and daughter, Melissa Moore, both of Beckley; sisters, Ollie Moore and Joann Poole, both of Lanark, Carolyn Crider of Brooklyn, NY, Betty Hughes of Cambria Heights, NY, Patty Merritt of Durham, NC; four grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be 1:00PM Saturday, February 10, 2018 at Second Baptist Church 700 ôFö Street, Beckley with Elder Terry Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity.

Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church.
