Obituaries – Their Stories Live On

Deacon Jerry Phillip Peck, Sr., 89, of Beckley died Wednesday, August 1, 2018.

Born April 2, 1929 in Lanark, WV, he was the son of the late Willie and Arie Peck.

He was a coal miner, member of UMWA LU 5770 District 29 and member and Head Deacon of First Baptist Church of North Beckley.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Paul Dennis Peck; brothers, Aurelius "Willie" Peck and Clarence "Peck" Peck and sisters, Ruth Claytor, Bernice Coal, Paulene Newsome and Rosalie Roebuck.

Left to cherish precious memories are his wife, Quantina, sons, Jerry, Jr. (Ann), Ronald (Terrill) and Kenneth (Marguerite); sisters, Rosetta Peck and Lonell Robinson; grandchildren, Ashley (CJ), Ronald, Jr. (Erica), Tonya (Adrian), Erica (David), Kenneth, Joshua, Ken'era, Isaac, Shelby and Sydney; nine great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be 1:00PM Monday, August 6, 2018 at First Baptist Church of North Beckley, 110 Ellis Street, Beckley with Rev. Paul Baker officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park, Beckley.

Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church.
