Obituary For Deacon Leon Alvin Trigg

Deacon Leon Alvin Trigg, 94 of Beckley, West Virginia went on to be with the Lord on October 20, 2020 after a life well lived.

Leon was born February 24, 1926 in Dunlope, West Virginia, to the late Wallace Trigg and Ellen Nowlin Trigg. He was a WWII Veteran and retired coal miner. He was a faithful usher, ordained Deacon and member of Heart of God Ministries.

He was a man who lived his call and took his relationship with God very seriously. Leon was a prayer warrior, a devoted husband, wonderful father, and loving grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Geneva Manns Trigg; daughter, Elinora Cottrell; grandson, Andre’ Trigg; granddaughter, Ladora Lee; brothers, Lonnie Banks, Jimmy Banks, and Billy Banks and sister, Ray Warren.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 24 years, Maxine Trice Harbison Trigg; daughters, Patricia Fields and Renee Harbison Smith; sons, Steve Harbison and Anthony Harbison; grandchildren, Renita Trigg, Melvin Cottrell, Jr., Janae Fields, Jeremy Fields, JaLeisa Harbison Coleman, Brittani Flynn Sheppard, Joseph Lee Harbison, Morgan Rowe, and Johnathan Flynn; sisters, Evelyn Jones of New York, Carolyn Smith and Gloria Banks, both of Mt. Hope, West Virginia, Sarah Lang of Columbus, Georgia, and Emily Rickman of Maryland; brothers, Dennis Banks of Columbus, Ohio and Edward Banks of Ohio; 12 great-grandchildren and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and loved ones.

Deacon Trigg left a legacy for his family filled with so many wonderful memories. Everyone who met him loved him, and he always said, “I’m blessed by the best!”

Private funeral service will be 12:00PM Monday, October 26, 2020 at Heart of God Ministries 1703 S. Kanawha St. Beckley with Bishop Fred T. Simms officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity

Friends, while wearing gloves, masks and observing social distancing, may pay their respects to the family beginning at 11:00AM.
