Obituaries – Their Stories Live On

Deacon Willie Epps Jr., 81, of Beckley, died Sunday, January 14, 2018.

Born November 15, 1936 in Fireco, WV, he was the son of the late Willie and Rosa Epps Sr.

Deacon Epps was a member of Welcome Baptist Church, Beckley, The New Gospel Singaleers, and was a graduate of Stratton High School, Beckley. He was formerly employed by Beckley Hospital and Pinecrest Nursing Home.

Those left to cherish precious memories are his wife of thirty-two years, Betty; sons, Ronald (Maxine) of Fireco, WV and Kevin Gore of Beckley; daughters, Rita McDaniel of Chester, VA and Aretha (Earl) Jackson of Winston Salem, NC; brothers, Napoleon (Ann) Epps of Oxen Hill, MD and Roger (Jo) Epps of Martinsville, VA; sister, Evangelist Rosa Clark of Fireco, WV; eleven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Funeral service will be 1:00 PM Monday, January 22, 2018 at Welcome Baptist Church 206 Eighth St., Beckley with Bishop David Allen officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity.

Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church.
