Obituary For Elder Thomas Ray Bradley

In loving memory of Elder Thomas Ray Bradley, a pillar of faith and a true servant of the Lord. Born on July 20, 1951, in Mills Branch Glen Daniels, WV, he embarked on a journey that reflected his unwavering commitment to family, faith, and community.

Thomas, the son of the late Clifton and Margie Bradley, transitioned to his eternal home on December 24, 2023, Christmas Eve, at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, WV.

Elder Bradleys’ spiritual journey was a testament to his deep-rooted connection with God. A devoted member of Faith Temple of Deliverance TPC, he served for 40 years, ascending from deacon to minister, elder, and finally assistant pastor.

His sermons began in 2003, resonating with the congregation and leaving an enduring impact.

Beyond the pulpit, Thomas embraced lifes joys. An avid golfer, he relished rounds with his brother and friends. His love for the outdoors manifested in pursuits like hunting and fishing, complemented by evenings spent in the bowling alley. In his youth, he was also a Golden Gloves Boxer, showcasing his athleticism.

Elder Bradleys’ professional journey saw him contribute significantly to the coal mining industry, working at Peabody, Massey, Kingston, and East Gulf. His dedication extended to roles at the VA hospital, State Road, Pinecrest, and the City of Beckley. In later years after his retirement, he worked along with his sister, Sandra Wallace, at Res Care until his death, leaving a lasting impact on those he served alongside.

Before his remarkable career, Thomas answered the call to serve in the Army in October 1974 alongside his friend Robert Robinson, affectionately known as “Spoon” on the Buddy System. Stationed in Fort Hood, TX and Germany, he earned a National Defense Service Medal and achieved marksman status. His pursuit of education led to a GED during his service.
Elder Bradleys’ love for God found expression in the soulful notes of the choir, where his voice resonated with passion.

A family man, he is survived by his loving wife, Pamela Jones Bradley; daughters, Tiziana Bradley and Dellisa Jones; son, Marquise Jones and grandchildren, Chiana Bradley, Jada Harrell, and Legend Edwards; special friend, Robert Robinson.

Elder Bradley leaves behind cherished memories with siblings, Dolphus (Ann) Bradley, Robert (Sharon) Bradley, Sandra Wallace, Linda (Tyrone) Anderson, and Dedria Bradley and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by siblings, Jeanetta Carson, Geraldine Iverson, Tillford Bradley, Ronald Bradley, and two infant brothers.

In celebrating the life of Elder Thomas Ray Bradley, we honor a man whose legacy transcends time-a testament to faith, family, and a life well-lived.

May his soul rest in eternal peace.

Funeral service will be 11:00AM Saturday, January 6, 2024 at Heart of God Ministries 1703 S. Kanawha St. Beckley with Bishop Fred T. Simms officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity.

I'm heart broken to hear this news but excited to know that you are rejoicing before the Lord. I can hear your voice now, Amen! Amen! Family remember: 1 Thessalonians 4:13-14 Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope. For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him. You will be missed Elder B. Amen!
