Obituaries – Their Stories Live On

Elder Wilma Melissa Schofield Starkey, 73, of Beckley, died Thursday, July 28, 2016.

Born December 10, 1942 in Amigo, WV, she was the daughter of Dr. Tanner Schofield-Cole and the late Elder Willie Schofield Sr.

She was employed by Raleigh General Hospital, G.C. Murphy Co., Raleigh County National Bank and the Raleigh County Sheriff Department and was a member and Assistant Pastor of United Apostolic Faith Church.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her brother, Elder Eddie Schofield and mother-in-law, Douglass Holland.

Left to cherish precious memories in addition to her mother, are her husband, Kenneth F. Starkey, Sr.; sons, Kenneth F. (Connie) Starkey, Jr., William Douglas Starkey, Garrett O. (Tami) Starkey Sr. and Timothy M. Starkey; brothers, Willie (Rosemary) Schofield, Richard (Rometta) Schofield, David Schofield, Paul (Diane) Schofield, and Timothy (Lolita) Schofield; sister, Naomi Ruth Schofield Patterson; 6 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be 12noon, Saturday, August 6, 2016 at United Apostolic Faith Church, 1010 S. Kanawha St., Beckley, with District Elder Tim A. Schofield officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity.

Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to United Apostolic Faith Church, 1010 S. Kanawha St., Beckley, WV 25801 in memory of Elder Wilma Starkey.
