Obituary For Evangelist Franzetta Pryor Woodson
Evangelist Franzetta Pryor Woodson was born October 4, 1938 in Huntington, WV and died Wednesday, June 16, 2021 in Beckley, WV. She was the eldest child of the late Rev. Thomas and Lorena Pryor and the wife of the late John Ellis βJuneβ Woodson.
She received her formal education at the former Dubois High School, where she was a marching majorette and graduated from Collins High School, Oak Hill, WV. In her lifetime, Franzetta, was an EKG technician at the former Beckley Hospital.
Evangelist Woodson committed her life to spreading the Word of God receiving her ministerial license from Heart of God Ministries in 2001 and became an Ordained Minister in 2007, under Bishop Fred T. Simms. She was ordained as a Minister from Higher Ground Always Abounding Assemblies Inc., in 2016, under Bishop T.D. Jakes Sr. Evangelist Woodson was a member of Radio Prayer Ministry, Women United in Christ and Heart of Godβs Ministers Guild and The Ministerial Alliance Association.
Evangelist Woodson is preceded in death by sons, John Ellis III, Mr. James βLukieβ Woodson, Mr. John Ellis βPedieβ Woodson IIII; grandsons, Mr. Danell Adonis Lewis and Mr. Shawn Brown; brothers, Tyrone Pryor and Freddie Pryor; uncle, Raymond Spradley; aunt, Alma Scales, Thelma Redmond, Isabel Spradley, Orange Thurston, and Virginia Rogers; and nephew, Curtis Jefferson.
She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Elaine Woodson Lang of Stockbridge, GA; son-in-law, Larry Lang of Jonesboro, GA; grandson, Marcus Manns of Beckley, WV three grand-daughters, LaResha Lang-Bryant (Dion) of Hampton GA, Eleena Lang of Stockbridge, GA, and Titiania Jackson of Cleveland, NC; two great-grandsons, Jordan Lang of Hampton, GA and Marcus Manns Jr. of Beckley, WV; brothers, Charles Pryor of Oakland, CA, Rev. David Pryor (Kathy) of Chesapeake, WV and Glenn (Henrietta) of Beckley, WV; sisters, Dreama Minor (Roy), Virginia Jefferson, Doretha Banks (Cecil), and Cynthia Haynes, all of Beckley, WV; special cousins, Eva Scales Berry and Dorothy Scales Rose; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends, and church family.
Evangelist Woodson leaves the legacy of being a mighty woman of God who was a spiritual mentor and prayer warrior to all she encountered.
Funeral service will be 2:00PM Sunday, June 27, 2021 at Heart of God Ministries 1703 S. Kanawha St. Beckley with Bishop Fred T. Simms officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park Beckley.
Friends, while wearing gloves and masks and observing social distancing, may view one hour prior to the service.
