Obituaries – Their Stories Live On

Evangelist Nellie Mae Jones, 88, of Beckley died Thursday, January 26, 2017.

Born February 17, 1928 in Mt. Airy, NC, she was the daughter of the late James Moore and Lola Ann Gilbert.

She was a homemaker and was a member of Free and Independent Holiness Church, Beckley.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Elder Elisha Chester ôECö Jones; sons, Robert Louis Jones and JC Jones; daughter, Mary Ellen Fuller; brothers, Calvin, Harvey James, Robert Lee, Clifford and Lloyd Moore; sisters, Eva Hatcher and Isabelle Moore; grandchildren, Sentury and Kendra Maxie.

Those left to cherish precious memories are her daughters, Dorothy Bush of Oak Hill, WV, Jeanette (Frank) Straughter of Charleston, WV, Debbie (David) Robinson of Beckley, WV and Ruby (Larry) Maxie of Elizabethtown, KY; special daughters-in-law Betty J. Lewis of Beckley and Sandra Jones of Huntington, WV; son-in-law, Donald Fuller of Beckley; sister, Geraldine Moore of Beckley WV; 20 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren , 2 great-great-grandchildren; special caretaker, Della Lewis and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends..

Funeral service will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday, February 4, 2017 at Free and Independent Holiness Church, 106 Seventh St., Beckley with Bishop Ernest Stewart officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity.

Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church.
