Obituaries – Their Stories Live On

Mr. Alfred “Les” Taylor, 49, of Harper Heights died Tuesday, May 7, 2019. Born April 10, 1970 in Medina, OH, he was the son of Pastors Alfred and Billie Paris Taylor.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Dorothy and Carl Davis; maternal grandparents, Hattie and Roosevelt Howard and brother, Tyrone. Les was a dedicated healthcare provider for the Mentor Network for eleven and a half years. Having an adventurous spirit and a love for outdoors, he often enjoyed riding his four-wheeler with his neighborhood crew, the Wild Hogs.

Les was a member of Church of God MPGT. In addition to his parents, left to cherish precious memories are his wife, of six years, Ericka Taylor of Beckley; children, “Lil Les” Pittman of Beckley, De’Ayera Taylor of GA, Tyrone Taylor and Dominic Taylor, both of NC, DeSean Farley and Teirra Taylor, both of Beckley and Mike James of Beckley; health care client, Robbie Dodson of Beckley; sisters, Tonya Taylor-Melvin of Beckley and Ann (Andre)Thomas, both of Beckley and Vera (Antonio) Gause of OH; Allen Fox of MA; eleven grandchildren; niece, Takeya Thomas; nephew, “AJ” Thomas of Beckley; uncle, Turner, who cared for him throughout his illness; best friend, Uncle Jim Boyd and mother-in-law, Helen Morris and a host of other uncles, aunts, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Funeral service will be 1:00PM Thursday, May 16, 2019 at Heart of God Ministries, 1703 S. Kanawha St., Beckley with Elder Mervin Hairston and Assistant Pastor Nina Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park, Beckley.

Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church.
