Obituaries – Their Stories Live On

Mr. Alphonso Morrow, 86, of Stanaford, WV died Friday, April 26, 2019.

Born November 25, 1932 in McAlpin, WV, he was the son of the late Fred and Minnie Hunt Morrow.

A US Air Force Veteran, he worked as a Nurse’s Assistant at the Veteran’s Hospital, Beckley and was a member of Calvary Assembly of God.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step- mother, Alberta (Barnhart) Morrow; wife, Marlene (Green) Morrow; brother, Augustus (Fred) Morrow and very special-friend, Yvonne Dues.

Those left to cherish precious memories are his wife, Virgie (Moon) Morrow of Stanaford, WV; sons, Steven Morrow of Lakeland, FL, Marcus Morrow of Durham NC and Mark Glenn Sr. of Beckley, WV; daughter, Maria (Morrow) Hooker of Sacramento, CA; brothers, James (Frankie) Morrow and Andrew Dues; sister, Mary Reid; thirteen grandchildren; one great-grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be 12:00PM Monday, May 6, 2019 at Calvary Assembly of God, 319 Sunset Dr., Beckley, WV with Pastor John Jordan officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity.

Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church.
