Obituaries – Their Stories Live On

Mr. Arthur Johnson of Beckley, WV died Saturday November 24, 2018. Born April 17, 1954 in Derry Hale, WV, he was the son of Martha Brown Johnson of Beckley and the late Joseph A. Johnson.

He retired from Beckley VAMC and was a member of Morning Star Baptist Church.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his son, Malcolm L. Johnson; daughter, Charlene D. Hannah and sister, Sylvia Johnson.

Those left to cherish precious memories are his wife, Melanie Farmer-Johnson of Beckley; sons, Alan J. Johnson of Aiken, SC, Joshua B. Johnson of Stanaford, WV and Michael Harris of Lewisburg, WV; daughters, LaKesha and Arianna Johnson, both of Stanaford, WV; brothers, Joseph (Diana) Johnson, Jr. and LeRoy Johnson both of Beckley, WV, Gary Murphy of Philadelphia, PA; sisters, Marlene Murphy and Lolita Kim Rozier both of Philadelphia, PA; thirteen grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Funeral service will be 12:00PM Sunday, December 2, 2018 at Morning Star Baptist Church, 303 New Market Road, Beckley, WV with Rev. Charles Gore officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park, Beckley.

Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church.
