Obituary For Mr. Bobbie E. Stewart Sr.

Mr. Bobbie E. Stewart Sr. heard the Master’s call to come home on Friday morning, May 1, 2026.

Bobbie’s sunrise was January 17, 1936, in Stanaford, WV to the late Robert Otha and Elsie Mae Stewart, he was the second of five children.

Bobbie attended Stratton High School in Beckley. He worked for Harry’s Men Shop in Uptown Beckley. You would often see him standing outside of the store conversing with passersby. While working at Harry’s, Bobbie also owned and operated the Knot Hole, a very well-known nightclub in Beckley.

Bobbie closed the Knot Hole in the early 1980’s. He worked at Harry’s until they closed the doors in the late 1990s.
Bobbie opened his own cleaning business and did that until 2005, after Harry’s and the Knot Hole.

Bobbie loved spending time with his family and passing on the knowledge that he had gained over the last 90 years of his life.

Bobbie was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Minnie Stewart; three brothers, James Robert Stewart “Icky”, Charles Edward Stewart “Prophet Elijah”, and Donny Ray Stewart; daughters, Theresa Stewart and Sherry Stewart; grandson, Reginald “Chaz”; Stewart; great-great-grandson, Imperial Stewart; great-great-granddaughter, Na’ Riyah Robertson, and great-great-grandson, Zondeair Roberts.

Bobbie leaves to cherish his memory sons, Bobbie E. Stewart Jr. (Patty) and Clarence Stewart, both of Columbus, OH; sister, Joyce Yvonne Stewart Leak “Sissy&” (Bishop Fetson), of New Rochelle, NY; brother, Ronald Maurice Stewart “Joe” of South Bend, IN; long-time partner, Margaret Hickman; father figure to son, Dallas Hickman of Huntsville, AL; daughter, Tara (Bryant) Phares, of Columbus, OH; fourteen grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; great-great-great-grandchildren, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members.

~My body was just a mere shell; there is no more pain or suffering as my Master has called me home. Let my love and memories continue to live on. Until we meet again~

Funeral service will be 1:00PM Wednesday, May 13, 2026 at the Ritchie & Johnson Funeral Parlor Chapel 748 S. Fayette St. Beckley.

Friends may view and visit with the family one-hour prior.

    To Margaret and the Stewart Family we used to take my Grandfather to Harry's to buy suits. I went to school with Sherry and Bobby was someone that we all looked up to when we were growing up and as we got older. Rest Easy Bobby!
