Obituaries – Their Stories Live On

Mr. Charles “Bo” Penn, 90, of Minden, WV died Wednesday, May 11, 2022.

Born March 27, 1932, in Covington, VA, he was the son of the late Hunn and Mary Catherine Empy Penn. He resided in Cranberry, WV at a young age.

Bo was a native of California for forty years and worked in construction and also the Steel industry as a fitter. He was also a veteran of the U. S. military forces.

He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Sylvester “Bubba”, James “Mutt”, Leonard “Piggy”, David “TomBoy”, William “Bill”, and Raymond “Jack”; sisters, Gladys Redman “Whickey”, Geraldine Martin and Betty Poindexter; children, Charles “Ronnie”, Kenneth “Brother” Penn and Pam Penn Warren.

Those left to cherish memories are his wife, Jacqueline Jones Penn; children, Gary Penn, Charlene Penn, Shelia Penn Moore, Thomas Jones, Darla Jones, Sabrina Jones, Brittany Jones, Edward Norris, Elgin Patterson, Barbara Phelps, Beverly Ledford and William James English; special granddaughter, Tyisha; brothers, Ronald “Skin” Penn of Beckley, WV, Donald “Mike” Penn of Philadelphia, PA; sisters, Charlotte “Lynn” Jackson of Opa Locka, FL and Mary “Baby Sister” Burnes of Miami, FL and, a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Memorial service will be 1:00PM Saturday, May 14, 2022, at Ritchie & Johnson Funeral Parlor Chapel, 748 S. Fayette St. Beckley with Rev. Regina Riley and Elder Bruce Carson officiating.

Friends while wearing mask and observing social distancing may visit with the family one hour prior to the service.
