Obituaries – Their Stories Live On

Mr. Charles Leo Shepherd, 77, of Scarbro, formerly of Thayer, died Wednesday, December 30, 2015.

Born April 28, 1938 he was the son of the late Clarence Odell and Lula Mae Brown Shepherd.

Mr. Shepherd was a retired police officer and a member of Little Rock Baptist Church, Thayer, WV.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Wendell Shepherd, Eugene Shepherd, and Samuel Mitchell and sisters, Jessie Sims, Naomi Erby, and Patsy Holland.

Those left to cherish precious memories are his children, Rose Marie (George) Stevenson of Twinsburg, OH, Charlotte Annette (John) McCann of Cleveland, OH, Cecilia (Gregory) Forman-Wesley of Cleveland Heights, OH, Shron Pinkney and Shante Shepherd, both of East Cleveland, OH, LaToyna Shepherd of Galesburg, IL and Tenisha (Gregory) Brooks of Peoria, IL; brother, Frank Shepherd of El Paso, TX; sisters, Ramona, Gladys, and Viola Yvonne Shepherd, all of Whipple, WV and Marie Knight of Mt. Hope, WV; brother-in-law, Ray Holland of Far Rockaway, NY; sisters-in-law, Mary Shepherd of Jamaica, NY and Barbara Shepherd of Bedford, OH; 23 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be 1:00 pm Saturday, January 9, 2015 at Sky Ministries, 815 South Fayette Street, Beckley, WV with Rev. William Fruit officiating.

Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity, WV. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church.
