Obituaries – Their Stories Live On

Mr. David Alexander Finney, Sr. 77, of Beckley began his eternal life on Sunday, April 14, 2024, after a lengthy illness.

David, affectionately known as “Skeeter”, was born June 11, 1946 to the late James Robert Finney Sr. and Martha Adams Finney in Beckley, WV.

David attended school in Beckley and served 4 years in the U.S. Air Force as a cook.

David, in addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, James R. “Mann” Finney, Jr. and bonus mom, Marjorie “Margie” Finney.

David leaves to cherish his memory a son, David A. Finney, Jr. of Charleston, WV; sisters, Aljean Martin of TX and Helen Ross (Allen) of MD; grandson, DJ of IA and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends.
As per his request, he has been cremated.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
