Mr. David Lawrence Shepard, 47, of Beckley, died Monday, April 4, 2016.

Born April 14, 1968 in Queens, NY, he was the son of the late Willie Lawrence and Mary Jean Saunders McNeil.

He worked as a group home counselor.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Belinda C. Floyd, Gloria Renee Lattore, Annie M. Stevenson, and Katrina D. Stevenson.

Left to cherish precious memories are his wife, Shirley, of Beckley; sons, Xavier Jerome Smith, of Orlando, FL and Raekwon Garner, of PA; step-daughter, Gabrielle Jasmine Stanley of Beckley; brothers, Jimmy C. (Queen) and Michael C. Shepard, both of Beckley; sister, Sheila Y. Kroon of Salisbury, MD; two grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday, April 10, 2016 at Heart of God Ministries, 1703 South Kanawha Street, Beckley with Bishop Fred T. Simms officiating.

Friends may call thirty minutes prior to the service at the church.
