Obituary For Mr. David Reynolds

Mr. David Woodell Reynolds, 76, of Beckley, WV passed away on Friday, January 5, 2024, at Beckley ARH Hospital, with his companion, Mary Jordan, by his side.

David was born on September 19, 1947, in Sandy Level VA.

David was the son of the late Samuel David Reynolds and Loraine Edwards Mayo.

David was the oldest of three children. He served in the United States Marine Corp and fought in the Vietnam War. He owned his own construction company, DWR Construction.

David sang in the choir as a member of First Baptist Church of North Beckley. He was a loving companion that took care of his family and home. He was also known for helping others.

David, in addition to his parents, was preceded in death by daughters, Davetta Reynolds, Evelyn Jordan; son, Stephen "Pooh" Jordan; brother, William Andrew Reynolds; sister, Ella May Reynolds; uncles, Emmett Edwards, Vernon Edwards, and Reuben Edwards; aunts, Mary Edwards and Carol Edwards and cousin, Carl Edwards.

David leaves to cherish precious memories his companion of 35 years, Mary Jordan of Beckley; sons, Gregory (Stephanie) Scruggs, of Beckley, Darrell Reynolds of Cleveland, OH, and William "Kent" (Tiffany) Jordan of Appleton, WI; daughters, Angie Reynolds, Kimberly Reynolds of Cleveland, OH, Marquita (Lamont) Jordan, and Audrey (Rodney) Thomas, both of Beckley; uncle, Robert Edwards of Oxon Hill, MD; aunt, Carrie Edwards of Homestead, PA; friends, Rodger Anderson and Tommy McCombs, both of Beckley; 20 grandchildren,l; 15 great-grandchildren and a host of other and friends.

The memories we have all shared with him will always be with us in the hearts of those who love him. He will be greatly missed.

Funeral service will be 1:00PM Thursday January 25, 2024 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church 142 Mool Ave. Beckley with Rev. Dr. Jerry Staples officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park, Beckley

Friends, while wearing masks and observing social distancing, may view and visit with the family one-hour prior.
