Obituaries – Their Stories Live On

Mr. Donald C. ôThe Generalö Owens, 72, of Fayetteville, died Friday, February 5, 2016.

Born May 19, 1943 in North Beckley, he was the son of the late William and Virginia Owens.

Mr. Owens was a Disabled Veteran of The U.S. Army, and a member of Mt. Zion MBC of Garten, WV and attended Fayetteville High School.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, William and James; and sister, Endris Jolene Owens Tinsley.

Those left to cherish precious memories are his sisters, Margret Matthews of Oak Hill and Doris M. Poore of Clarksville TN; brother, Harold Owens of Fayetteville; nieces, Teresa (Dennis) Dabney of VA; nephews, James (Colleen) Matthews and Anthony (Terry) Poore; a host of great- nieces; great- nephews; other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be 1:00 PM Friday, February 12, 2016 at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Garten WV with Reverend Keith Walker officiating. Burial will follow in Huse Memorial Park, Fayetteville. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church.
