Obituary For Mr. Dwayne Marquette Richardson Jr.
Mr. Dwayne Marquette Richardson, Jr. was born on January 9, 2003 in Charlotte, NC and went to be with the Lord on May 3, 2021 at the young age of 18 years old.
He was the son of Dwayne and Keyisha Richardson.
Dwayne was a junior at Woodrow Wilson High School and had a GPA of 4.06. He was a member of the Woodrow Wilson Basketball Team, ESBA/Team Mayo AAU/Travel Basketball Team and also a member of the Raleigh County Health Sciences & Technology Academy.
He had many different “nicknames” that he was called, “Wayne”, “ISOWAYNE”, “Wayneski”, “Dee” and “Lil D”.
Dwayne dedicated his life to Christ when he was a sixth grader at Greater Beckley Christian School. He was later baptized and became a member of Mount Vernon Baptist Church, Lanark. His favorite verse was “I Can Do All Things Through Christ Who Strengthens Me” Philippians 4:13.
He loved automobiles, shopping and spending time with friends and family. He was a loyal friend.
In addition to his parents, left to cherish his memory are his sisters. Jada Watts of Washington, DC and Amiah Richardson; grandparents George Richardson Sr. of MA, Doris Gregory of Charlotte, NC, Michael Donald of Chesapeake, VA and Tina Donald of Beckley, WV; great-grandmother, Daisy Donald of Beckley, WV; first uncles, George (Beverly) Richardson Jr., Nekedra (Demetria) Richardson and Demetrius Donald; first aunts, Tasha Donald, Ashley Donald of Washington, DC and Samantha Fourney of Charlotte, NC; first cousins, Benjamin Anderson, Ava Pannell, Arsenio Richardson, Sharika Richardson, Nekedra Richardson Jr., Jalen Richardson, Connor Richardson, Dylan Richardson, Sara Richardson and Zariah White and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who will miss him dearly.
Coaches Ron Kidd, Michael Fowlkes, Tyler Dotson and Ryan Wade played a significant role coaching and training Dwayne in life on and off the court.
Funeral service will be 12:00Noon Saturday, May 15, 2021 at Heart of God Ministries 1703 S. Kanawha St. Beckley. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity.
Friends, while wearing gloves and masks, may view two hours prior to the service, where the family will be present from 11:00AM - 12:00PM.
