Obituaries – Their Stories Live On

Ernest Harold Robertson, 84, of Glen Jean, WV died November 17, 2016.

Born August 16, 1932 in Buckingham Co, VA, he was the youngest born to the late William Henry and Cora Johnson Robertson.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by eight siblings.

He retired from the United States Army as Sgt. First Class.

He was baptized at Springfield Baptist Church in Appomattox Co., VA. He later relocated to Glen Jean WV, where he became a member, deacon, treasurer and trustee of First Baptist Church of Glen Jean; was Secretary of the West Virginia State Laymens, Treasurer to the WV Baptist State Convention Credit Union, and Maintenance man for The Hilltop Baptist Center.

Left to cherish his memories are sons, Lawrence Henderson of El Paso, TX, Leland Robertson of Denver, CO and Ernest A. (Erika) Robertson of Ashland KY; daughter, Lynn Cummings of Houston TX; six grandchildren; brother, Wilbur Robertson of Appomattox, VA and sister, Elizabeth Harris of Farmville VA, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral service will be 12:00pm Saturday, November 26, 2016 at the First Baptist Church of Glen Jean, 469 Collins Hill Road with Rev. Eugene Nabors officiating. Burial will be 2:00pm Monday November 28, 2016 in Donel C. Kinard Memorial State Veterans Cemetery 130 Academy Drive, Dunbar, WV.

Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church.
