Obituaries – Their Stories Live On

Mr. Eugene Richard Logan, Sr., 90, longtime resident of Silver Spring, MD, passed Wednesday, June 9, 2021.

Born in 1930 in Glen Jean, WV to late Alma Lee Davis Logan Rice and Sidney Logan.

He graduated from DuBois High School and attended Bluefield State College. He enlisted in the Air Force in 1949. He retired from the District of Columbia Government on September 30, 1994. Eugene married Alice Bowles Logan and to this union, one child was born, Eugene (Gino) Richard Logan, Jr.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Logan; mother, Alma Logan; father, Sidney Logan; sisters, Margaret Logan, Katherine McCormick, and Laura Beverly; brother, Joseph Logan and step-son, Larry Wright. He is survived by his son, Eugene (Gino) Logan, Jr.; step-son, Farrington (Bruce) Wright, Sr.; grandsons, Antonio Johnson, Marlon Logan, Maurice Logan and Farrington (Tiger) Wright, Jr.; granddaughter, KaShava Logan; great-grandson, Konner Coston and a host of relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be 11:00AM Saturday, June 26, 2021 at the Ritchie & Johnson Funeral Parlor Chapel 748 S. Fayette St; Beckley. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park, Beckley.

Friends, while wearing gloves and masks and observing social distancing, may view one hour prior to the service.
