Obituaries – Their Stories Live On

Mr. Gaston Pick Smith, 70, of Beckley died Sunday, July 1, 2018.

Born November 8, 1947 in Slab Fork, WV, he was the son of the late Gaston and Bertha Watson Smith.

A member of St. Paul Baptist Temple, he occasionally attended Shiloh Baptist Church, Harper Heights.

He graduated from Stratton High School, Beckley College, was an Army Veteran and retired from Verizon with 35yrs of service.

Cherishing precious memories are his beloved wife of 46yrs, Valerie; brother, Ezzard Charles Smith of Beckley; six daughters, Yolanda of Boston, MA, Monique, Ebony, Rhiana, and Rebecca, all of Beckley and Rhia of Greensboro, NC; four sons, Gaston III, Anthony and Randy, all of Beckley; special sons, JerMichael Desper of Charleston, Jamar Dunnigan of Harlem, NY and Kaliche Morris of Beckley and DJ Robinson of Phoenix, AZ; ten grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, foster children that he dearly loved and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral service will be 12:00PM Saturday, July 6, 2018 at Heart of God Ministries, 1703 South Kanawha Street, Beckley with Elder Leo Moore officiating. Entombment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Prosperity.

Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church.
