Obituary For Mr. Glen Pryor

Mr. Glenn Wendell Pryor, 62, of Beckley, WV passed Thursday, May 17, 2024.

Born March 6, 1962 in Oak Hill, WV, he was the son of the late Rev. Thomas Kyle Pryor and First Lady Lorena Spradley Pryor.

Glenn graduated from Woodrow Wilson High school and attended West Virginia Tech. He was an employee at the Board of Public Works, City of Beckley as a Heavy Equipment Operator for 32 years, where he was loved by leadership and his coworkers. He loved photography and took amazing pictures of nature for many years. Most of all, he loved his wife, Henrietta and children/grandchildren dearly and was a devoted husband for 37 years this July. At an early age he attended New Hope Baptist Church and then Welcome Baptist Church where his father, the late Rev. Thomas Pryor was pastor. As the youngest child of ten siblings, he will be truly missed by his older sisters and brother. Glenn was a proud Christian and prayed for others at every opportunity.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by Tyrone Pryor, Freddie Thomas Pryor, Evangelist Franzetta Pryor Woodson and Charles Pryor; father-in-law, Rev. Charles A. Lawson; mother-in-law, First Lady Virginia Lawson; brothers-in-law, Andrew Lawson (Anna), James Lawson (Delores), and Jeffery Lawson (Elaine) and sister-in-law, Doretha Wallace (Lewis, deceased).

Left to cherish precious memories are his wife, Henrietta Pryor of Beckley, WV; son, Joshua Thomas Pryor; special daughter, Ebonie Hall; mother of granddaughter, E’moni Christine Pryor and expected grandson, Josiah Thomas Pryor of Princeton, WV; Faith Lynne’ Pryor, special son, Greg Washington and grand dog, “Cactus” of Garfield, NJ; special pet, “Valour”; brother, Rev. David Pryor (Kathy Pryor) of Peebles, OH; sisters, Pastor Virginia Pryor Jefferson and Doretha Pryor Banks and Dreama Minor (Roy Minor), all of Beckley, WV, Cynthia Pryor Haynes of Orlando, FL; brothers-in-law, Charles Lawson (Hazel/deceased), George Lawson (Ellen), John Lawson (Karen “Toni”); sisters-in-law, Beverly “Becky” Smith (Bob), Jennetta Thomas (Royal) and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
