Obituary For Mr. James E. Morton

Mr. James E. Morton, 88, of Beckley, WV, was taken to be with the Lord Wednesday, September 17, 2025 at Bowers Hospice House.

James was born May 28, 1937 in Amigo, WV, he was the son of the late William and Ethel Morton.

James loved the Lord and was a faithful member of New Hope Baptist Church. He retired from Beckley Appalachian Regional Hospital.

James was a family man, devoted father and loved his grand babies.

James, in addition to his parents, was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, Henry Morton, Melvin Morton, Rev. Robert Morton, Alice Morton and Viola M. Martin.

James leaves to cherish precious memories his wife, of over 63 years, Rose M. Morton; son, Aaron (Donna) Morton of Clarksburg, MD; daughter, Teresa Morton-McWillis of NC; brothers, Rev. Samuel Morton of Columbus, Ohio and Vernell Morton of Beckley, WV; grandchildren, Christopher of NC, William of Clarksville, TN, Alexis of NC; Ryon of MD; great-grandchildren, Ariella, Chris Jr., Kayden, all of NC and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be 1:00PM Friday, September 26, 2025 at Calvary Assembly of God 319 Sunset Dr. Beckley, WV. Burial
will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity.

Friends, while wearing masks and observing social distancing, may visit with the family one-hour prior.
