Obituaries – Their Stories Live On

Mr. James Ernest Clark Jr., 67, of Beckley, WV passed Tuesday, March 14, 2023. James was born February 6, 1956, in Lillybrook, WV, he was the son of the late James Sr. and Emma Gilbreath Clark. James was a 1975 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School and retired from Raleigh General Hospital where he worked in the operating room. James attended United Missionary Baptist Church, Mt. Hope, WV, assisting in the Music Ministry. James loved music, basketball, the Dallas Cowboys and fishing. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Billy Minifield and sister, Juanita Minifield-Williams. James leaves behind four children, Lamont Mahan, James Clark III, Elder April Clark, and Christina Clark all of Beckley, WV; two step-children, Latoya Johnson, and Cliff Johnson, both of NC; three grandchildren, Caleb Clark, Caseara Clark, and Ammar Maxwell; two great-grandchildren, Lay Lay and Mommas’; three special cousins, Jacquetta “Jay Jay” Johnson, Harretta Johnson, and Otis Johnson; and nephew, Johnny Williams. As per his request, he has been cremated. Memorial service will be 12:00PM Saturday April 1, 2023, at Heart of God Ministries 1703 S. Kanawha St. Beckley, with Bishop Fred T. Sims officiating.
