Obituary For Mr. James "Pug" Richard Moore III
Mr. James Richard “Pug” Moore III, 42, of Lanark departed this life on Thursday, October 8, 2020 at Appalachian Regional Hospital.
James was born March 7, 1978 in Lanark, he was the son of Doreen Moore and Ronnie Campbell.
James attended Woodrow Wilson High School, graduating in 1998. He was employed as a cook at several group homes for adults and teens. He also worked for a cleaning service over several grocery stores. He had a passion for helping people. He was a caregiver for his brother Rickey and grandmother, Dora Cousin.
“Pug” loved playing football; his dream was to play for University of Michigan but was not able to play for medical reasons- but every chance he got he attended football and basketball games. When the coach would let him he gladly helped with coaching the team and assisted them in any way he could.
“Pug” finally got a chance to play for the “Storm”; he was one of the founding members. He helped to anchor an elite defense in 2012 for an undefeated season.
James was not only a great athlete on the field, but even a better man off the field spending many hours volunteering with the local youth. James was also a great cook, coach, dad and husband. He spoiled them all- his kids and wife. His kids called him the “chef”. James finally found and married the love of his life Kristina Hoover-Moore. They are blessed to have five children. James finally got the son he always wanted. He made sure to have a basketball goal in his yard. He had his son and daughter out training every day for hours. He will be sadly missed by all that know him.
