Obituaries – Their Stories Live On

Mr. James Richard “Jimmy” White III was born in Limestone, Maine on May 18, 1958. He departed this life on Friday, July 30, 2021 at Bower Hospice House in Beckley, WV after extended stays at Raleigh General Hospital and Oak Hill Hospital.

James Richard White Jr. (father) and Janine White (sister) preceded James in death in May of 1992 and May of 2000, respectively.

James is survived by his mother, Lois White; brother; David White; daughter, Jazmine Lewis; niece. Camille Mathis; aunts, Frieda Maxwell and Dorothy Tabb, and a host of other relatives and friends.

James attended West Technical High School in Cleveland, OH and Wilberforce University in Dayton, OH.

James was employed in the security industry during most of his adult life. Prior to moving to WV, he was an easy-going jokester who loved to grill and make sandwiches for his loved ones. His illness kept him from his dream of driving through the New River Gorge.

He truly loved wild and wonderful WV.

As per his request, he has been cremated.
