Obituaries – Their Stories Live On

Jess ôSamö Davis Jr. was called to his heavenly home following his brave seven-year battle with cancer.

Born January 10, 1952 at Pax Branch, WV, to the late Christine Barney and Jess Davis Sr.

He was a proud member of the UMWA and a US army Veteran.

Those left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 32 years, Kim Slaughter Davis; two beautiful daughters, Alyson (companion Bryan Bolt) Davis and Rebecca Davis, both at home; his Shining Lights, three grandchildren, Madison and Carleigh Wills and Mason Gyurek, also at home; brothers, Mike (Jerri) Davis of Oak Hill, WV and Tucker (Norma) Davis of Statesville, NC; sisters, Carolyn (Bruce) Grant of Oak Hill, WV, Janney (Homer) Vest of Hiddenite, NC and Rose (James) Williams of Aiken, SC and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

As per his wishes, he will be cremated, and his ashes interred at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens, Pea Ridge, WV on 10:00A M Friday August 7, 2015 with Rev. James Davis officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Bowers Hospice House, 454 Cranberry Drive, Beckley, WV, 25801.
