Obituaries – Their Stories Live On

Mr. John Bastam Robinson, 97, of Beckley, formerly of Huntington, WV died Saturday, October 3, 2015.

Born June 29, 1918 in Speedwell, VA, he was the son of the late Brown and Francis Montgomery Robinson.

Mr. Robinson attended Kings Chapel A.M.E. Church, Huntington, WV and was a disabled World War II Veteran.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Janie Nichols, Neely Kwsyole, Mary Robinson, and Clara Spiller; brothers, Bishop Felix, James, and Abraham Robinson.

Those left to cherish precious memories are his nieces, Barbara Coleman, Annette Sanders, Deloris (Ernest) Stewart, Rhona Schofield, and Olinda (Wilbert) Smith all of Beckley, WV, and Martha Nichols of Huntington, WV; nephews, Clifton (Joyce) Robinson, David (Debbie) Robinson, both of Beckley, WV, and Howard Nichols of Germany and host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be 1:00p.m., Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at the Ritchie & Johnson Funeral Parlor Chapel, 748 S. Fayette Street, Beckley, WV with Bishop John Grant and Elder David Robinson officiating. Friends may call thirty minutes prior to the service at the funeral parlor.
