Obituary For Mr. John Wilbur Campbell

Mr. John Wilbur Campbell, 71, of Knoxville, TN formerly of Beckley, WV passed Friday, February 11, 2022, after a brief illness.

John was born September 18, 1950, in Slabfork, WV, he was the son of the late Samuel Alexander and Mae Willie Campbell Sr. He was raised in Harper Heights, WV.

John worked for many years at Amtrak in New York. He was also a health care worker.

John joined the Marine Corps in 1968. He served in the Vietnam War and was awarded the Purple Heart while serving in Okinawa as a Military Police.

He attended the Beulah Church of God Holiness in Knoxville, TN.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Samuel Alexander Campbell, Jr. and Donald William Wright.

Left to cherish precious memories are his sisters, Gloria Campbell Carroll and Mary Campbell Bryant; nephew, Robert Bryant and a host of cousins, other family, and friends.

Funeral service will be 12:00PM Friday, March 11, 2022, at the Ritchie & Johnson Funeral Parlor Chapel 748 S. Fayette St. Beckley with Elder David Leo Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park, Beckley.

Friends, while wearing masks and observing social distancing, may view and visit with the family from 6:00PM - 7:00PM Thursday, March 10, 2022.
