Obituary For Mr. Johnny E. Gavin

Mr. Johnny E. Gavin was born to Betty Clark Gavin and Johnnie “Willie” Gavin May 23, 1963.

Johnny had a love for music that started young and kept it throughout his life. He received a degree in broadcasting from Beckley College.

Johnny was a beloved brother and uncle he was lovingly known as “Uncle Johnny”. He had a caring spirit and would give anything he could to a loved one in need. He spent his life helping to care for his nieces and nephews. A devote Steelers fan, he took pride in wearing his team gear and boasting their 6 rings and his terrible towel. He was an Army veteran and served in the first Golf War.

Johnny, during retirement, spent his time DJing parties under his stage “Mix Master Johnny G” with his own company, Non Stop Music Productions.

Johnny, after a long illness, went to be with the Lord peacefully in his sleep on Thursday, June 5, 2025.

Johnny leaves to cherish his memory his siblings, nieces, nephews, a caregiver he loved as a son, Daquan Watson and a host of other loved ones and friends.

Funeral service will be 12:00PM Friday June 20, 2025 at Welcome Baptist Church
206 Eighth St. Beckley with Pastor Gloria J. Allen officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park, Beckley.

Friends, while wearing masks and observing social distancing, may visit with the family one-hour prior.
