Mr. Joseph Edward Ritchie, 94, of Fayetteville, WV died Wednesday, May 9, 2018.

Born February 8, 1924 in Big Island, VA, he was the son of the late Samuel James and Sadie Mae Claytor Ritchie.

He was an Automobile Mechanic and member of Lawndale Christian Reformed Church, Chicago, IL.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Henry, James and William and sisters, Goldie Diamond, Lurinda Ritchie and Dorothy Bibb.

Left to cherish precious memories are his wife, Dorothy Lucas Ritchie; son, Joseph Ritchie II of Hong Kong; daughters, Antonia Ritchie of Fayetteville and Nancy Ritchie of Fort Wayne, IN; grandchildren, Jay, Akin and Tia Ritchie; brothers, Thomas (Yasuko) Ritchie of Vacaville, CA, Samuel Ritchie of Washington, DC and Harold Ritchie of Silver Spring, MD and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Saturday, May 19, 2018 at the Ritchie & Johnson Funeral Parlor Chapel, 748 South Fayette Street, Beckley with Rev. Karel Boersma officiating. Burial will follow in Pierce Cemetery, Fayetteville.

Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the chapel.
