Obituary For Mr. Julius Leon Mitchell

Mr. Julius Leon Mitchell 65, of Beckley WV passed away March 12, 2025 at Bowers Hospice.

Mr. Mitchell was born on June 20, 1959 in Lester, WV to the late Mary & Robert Mitchell.

A life-long resident of WV, Mr. Mitchell worked as a long-term caregiver at Heartland of Beckley WV. He also held numerous working positions throughout the community helping residents in & around their homes. He was a very hard-working & dedicated individual.

Mr. Mitchell was a very comical, loving and outspoken individual. He had several hobbies; throwing horseshoes, rolling dice, playing pool etc. He just enjoyed laughing and having a great time.

In addition to his late parents Mary and Robert Mitchell, he was preceded in death by his three sisters, Harlima Mitchell, Marquita Mitchell and Rebecca Hills; three children; Julietta Shantelle Curry, Julius Michael Curry and Julius Leon Mitchell Jr.; four brothers, Robert S. Mitchell, Timothy Mitchell, Clarence Mitchell and Terry Mitchell; sisters, Bronze Hatcher, Mary Mitchell, Sherry Mitchell, Tijuana Mitchell, Drema Mitchell, Yvonne Mitchell and Cordelia Mitchell; several grand-children and a host of other relatives and friends.

His family would like to thank everyone for their prayers and condolences.

When I come to the end of the road
And the sun has set for me
I want no rites in a gloomed- filled room
Why cry for a soul set free
Miss me a little, but not for long
And not with your head bowed low
Remember the love that we once shared
Miss me, but let me go

As per his request, he has been cremated.

Same here Senique lol He was our babysitter for years before we moved to NY. And I loved talking to him even during my adult years. Never had a conversation without constant laughter. One day he told me he was going to ride his bike to GA to come and see me 🤣 He will be so missed. 😔 in FL now so sad I missed the chance to see him then 😔 Revelations 24:4..." And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away." My Condolences!
