Obituary For Mr. Kevin Swafford

Mr. Kevin Louis Swafford, 39, of Beckley, passed away Sunday, January 2, 2022.

Born January 7 1982 in Beckley, WV, he was the son of Vanessa Smith Swafford of Beckley and Louis King (Faith) Berry of Kentucky.

Kevin grew up in Mt. Hope, WV, graduating from Mount Hope High School in 2000.

Kevin was a member of the Lighthouse Theater in Charleston.

Kevin was preceded in death by his brother, Leon Swafford; grandparents, Suverna Smith and Walter King; sister, Latease Pharse; aunt, Arlene Weems and cousin, Roger Harper.

In addition to his parents, left to cherish precious memories are his brothers, Walter Lee Swafford II and Louis K. Berry Jr.; sisters, Faith A. Berry, Hope L. Berry and Charity M. Berry; special friends, Brandi Patterson, Lindsay Powell, and Jason Grant and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Funeral service will be 1:00PM Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at the Ritchie & Johnson Funeral Parlor Chapel 748 S. Fayette St. Beckley with Elder Pamela Weems officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park, Beckley

Friends, while wearing masks and observing social distancing, may view and visit with the family one hour prior to the funeral service.

Vanessa, Valerie, and all others who also loved Kevin: Kevin was a bright light of joy that brought laughter to everyone. He was a sweet, sensitive man that loved everyone but had an especially soft spot for animals and children. Kevin was an artist and an entertainer. Many of my best memories involve Kevin and I will hold him in my heart forever.
