Obituaries – Their Stories Live On

Mr. Larry Edward Thompson, 68, of Princeton, peacefully departed this life and went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, February 11, 2020.

Born September 4, 1951 in Helen, WV, he was the son of the late David and Ruth Graves Thompson.

Larry received Christ at an early age. He was a member of Magnolia Baptist Church in Helen, WVand attended Liberty Baptist Church, Princeton.

Larry was a 1969 graduate of Sophia High School, worked in the coal mine and moved to Flint, MI, where he worked at General Motors for several years. He moved to Paterson, NJ, where he was a landscaper and retired as a CDL driver.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, David Thompson Jr.

Those left to cherish precious memories are his children, Laura Jean (Darrell) Thompson, Lavette (Terrence) Hodge and Larry (Victoria) Thompson Jr., all from Raleigh, NC; brothers, Bishop Sam (Maxine) Thompson of Jacksonville, NC, Donald Ray (Queen) Thompson of Beckley and Terry (Annette) Thompson of Orange, NJ; sister, Carolyn Oglesby of Beckley; friends, Joann, Walter (Betty) Thompson and Jackie of Beckley; foster brother, Anthony Thomas of Arkansas; foster sister, Latisha Thomas of Greensboro, NC; grandchildren, Darrell Jr., Brandon, Domonique, Christopher, Brittany, Tiffany, Jamel, Lareisha, and Makyih; great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and special friends.

Memorial service will be 1:00PM Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at Heart of God Ministries 1703 S. Kanawha St. Beckley with Bishop Fred T. Simms officiating.
