Obituaries – Their Stories Live On

Mr. Larry Junior Goins, 70, of Beckley, died Saturday, October 3, 2015.

Born August 28, 1945, in Galax, Virginia, he was the son of the late Chap and Agnes McMillian Goins.

He attended public schools in Winston-Salem, NC, served in the United States Army from 1965-1967 and was employed by Jan Care and Raleigh County Schools.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Lenzie Goins.

Those left to cherish precious memories are his wife, Wilhemina Medley Goins; brothers, Larry Durgan of Bluefield, WV, Garland Goins of Winston-Salem, NC, Mark and Kevin Goins, both of Cincinnati, OH; sisters, Mildred Scott, and Carolyn Brown of Winston-Salem, NC, and Brenda Goins of Cincinnati, OH; brother-in-law, William (companion, Denise Martin) Medley; sister-in-law, Jane (Lewis) Hannah; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will 1 p.m. Tuesday, October 6, 2015, at St. Matthew AME Church, 103 Mills Ave., with Pastor Dreama Robertson officiating.

Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church.
