Obituaries – Their Stories Live On

Mr. Leonza Lee Mims, 66, of Scarbro, WV, died Friday, November 17, 2017.

Born September 7, 1951 in Derryhale, WV, he was the son of the late Willie Lee and Betty Jane Johnson Mims.

He was a US Army Veteran and member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church of Whipple.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six brothers, Joseph A. Mims, John Spencer, Willie L. Walker, Wesley Jackson, John Yates and James J. Mims and four sisters, Virginia M. Mims, Henrietta Wells, Samella Butler and Betty Webber.

Those left to cherish precious memories are one brother, Ronald S. Mims of Beckley; two sisters, Mary L. Bush of St. Louis, MO and Cathryn Bean of Russellville, AL; one aunt, Beatrice Lett of Oak Hill; a cousin, who was his faithful caregiver, Raymond A. Johnson; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Funeral service will be 1:00PM Saturday, November 25, 2017 at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, Whipple, 68 Fox Road Scarbro, with Rev. Freddie Davenport and Elder Robert Hicks officiating. Burial will follow in Gethsemane Memorial Garden, Oak Hill.

Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church.
