Obituaries – Their Stories Live On

Mr. Leslie “Les” Dean Hatcher II, 48, of Myrtle Beach, SC formerly of Mt. Hope, WV passed peacefully Thursday, February 9, 2023, with family and friends by his side. Les was born on December 23, 1974 to the late Leslie Dean Hatcher Sr. and Verna June Hatcher.

Les was the former head of security at McLeod Hospital, Little River, SC and a heavy equipment operator. He was a proud member of River Town Riders Club and enjoyed riding his motorcycle, most of all, spending time with his grandchildren, family, and friends.

Les, in addition to his parents, was preceded in death by his brother, Joey Voiers and grandparents, Oscar and Ruth Hatcher. Les leaves behind his wife, Kathy Jo Hatcher; children, Eric Hughart (fiancé, Frannie Adkins) of Charlotte, NC and Jessica Boyd (wife, Alexandra) of Wapakoneta, OH; niece, Kassi (Jeremy) Conner of Princeton, WV; fourteen grandchildren; fifteen nieces and nephews; two great-nieces and one great-nephew and a host of other relatives and friends. Graveside service will be 2:00PM Saturday, February 18, 2023 at Birchfield Cemetery in Ghent, WV with Pastor Alva Blankenship officiating. All family and friends are welcome to come pay their respects.

The procession will leave from the Ritchie & Johnson Funeral Parlor 748 S. Fayette St., Beckley at 12:30PM
