Mr. Lester Delaineo “D” Cook, 73, of Beckley, died Tuesday, April 19, 2022. Born October 7, 1948 in Jacksonville, Florida, he was the son of the late Andy Lee and Reva L. Cook. Lester, known to everyone as “D”, was a painter and handyman. He also worked at Pine Lodge. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Charles, Stanley, Erskine, and Delbert and sister, Elaine. Left to cherish precious memories are his daughter, Delonda Moore of Myrtle Beach, SC; brother, Rev. Donald Cook of Beckley; sister, Theresa Hoskins of Beckley; grandchildren, Sankia, Aeneas and Ariyana; great-grandchildren, De’Mauhri, Daisean and Damir and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral service will be 12:00PM Saturday, April 23, 2022 at Welcome Baptist Church, 206 Eighth St. Beckley with Bishop David Allen officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park, Beckley. Friends, while wearing mask and observing social distancing, may view and visit with the family one hour prior to the service at the church.
