Obituaries – Their Stories Live On

Mr. Maurice E. Boggs was born in Marlinton, WV on January 20, 1956, to loving parents, Rev. Carl E. Boggs and Ruth N. (Scott) Boggs (both deceased) and departed this life on Sunday, July 28, 2024.

Maurice affectionately known as “Mo”, played football for Woodrow Wilson High School, graduated in 1974 and went on to play football for Glenville State College. Known for his witty and likeable personality, he often reminisced of his days growing up in Marlinton, WV with his parents, as he was the first born of 5 siblings. We will miss his stories of love and laughter.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Eric L. Boggs and sister, Anita C. Boggs.

Maurice is survived by his daughter, Jasmine Denee' Parrott of Huntington, WV; brothers, Jeffrey A. Boggs (Kristin Shelley) of Zionville, IN; sisters, Cheryl K. Boggs of Dallas, TX and Mildred Lewis of Alderson, WV; niece, Denise LaRosa (Jason LaRosa) of Pittsburgh, PA; nephew, Davis Lewis (Colette Brown Lewis) of Lewisburg, WV and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Psalm 34:18 "The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit."

As we confide in our Father, we can experience peace and the beginning of healing for our wounded hearts. For truly "earth hath no sorrow that heaven cannot heal."

He will be truly missed

As per his request, he has been cremated. A memorial gathering will be 10:30AM Saturday, August 17, 2024 at Golden Corral 1320 N. Eisenhower Dr. Beckley.
