Obituary For Mr. Michael Arnold Alexander

Mr. Michael Arnold Alexander was born to Arnold Earl Alexander and Marjorie Rita Alexander on October 7, 1974 on a Blessed Monday in Beckley, West Virginia.

On February 15, 2021 at the age of 46 years old in the warm embrace of his Father's arms, Jesus Christ, Michael went home with Jesus to be with his Grandparents, George and Helen and John and Betty and Uncles and other family members, most who left us much too soon.

Michael was loved by so many. He leaves with us his wife of 26 years, Melissa Renee Mitchell Alexander of Beckley West Virginia; two daughters, Twania Sade'Alexander and Caitlyn Mariah Alexander; two grandchildren, Nevaeh Ryane Alexander and Caleb Michael Alexander.

Michael loved and adored his family, Nevaeh and Caleb were his life force. He doted on his grand-babies, they were his tiny friends and his playmates. There also were his parents, Arnold Earl Alexander and Marjorie Rita Alexander of Appomattox, Virginia; his best friend and big brother, Benjamin S. Goings of Powder Springs, Georgia; his big sis, Michelle Diane Alexander of Lynchburg, Virginia and one of the peas in the pod, his little sis., who was his confidante and trusted sister-friend, Crystal Nicole Alexander-Berry of Augusta, Georgia; three very loved very dear friends, who consist of Michelle Mitchell, Jacqueline Fortner, and his mentor, TROOP.

There are so many aunts, uncles, cousins, who called to tell of their deep sorrow and to wish the family well and to extend best wishes and safe havens for travelers. Your words of encouragement, extended love and concerns for Michael's family are excepted with deep love, affection and graciousness. It seems his life was over before it began, he had so much more to give to this world and his family. His under-brow look will be missed, his long conversations, along with the words “Please be quiet and just listen Ma” will be missed by his Mom.

To his wife, Melissa, he was her rock, for his daughters, he was forever and for his parents, he is the part of our lives that will forever be empty until we will be able to see and wrap our arms around him one more time. Michael was 46 years young, much too young to leave this earth. He had so much more to contribute to this world and the people who loved and cared for him. Michael started his young life working at the age of 13 years old. He worked in the summer at Grandview State Park, Ryan's Restaurant, Pizza Hut, Reggie's Barber Shop and went on to work for numerous companies in the coal mining industry. Michael work for 20 years and a few months with A.T. Massey Coal and Energy Company, Alpha Natural Resources Company and Contura Energy. He was a member of the Mine Rescue Team. He worked inside and outside of the mine sites as an active, miner, electrician and safety representative. Michael was extremely dedicated to his positions with the companies he worked for. Michael ate, slept and my belief is if he bled it would have been coal.

Private Family Funeral Service will be 5:00PM Monday, February 22, 2021 at Heart of God Ministries 1703 S. Kanawha St., Beckley with Bishop Fred T. Simms officiating.

Friends, while wearing gloves and masks and observing social distancing, may walk through and view one hour prior to the service.

My brother, Marques and I were reminiscing of the good days of when we use to live in Lewis & Ritchie apartments. This is where we met Mikey and Melissa. This is when they fell in live so hard. We can remember Mikey hanging out with the fellas and I met Mellissa while visiting her aunt Drema who lived down the street from us. Mikey stopped hanging out and the one place we could always find Mikey was on the pay phone talking to Melissa. Mikey lived on the pay phone talking to Melissa. Mikey fell hard and in love with Melissa. We will never forget that! Our prayers and love go to you Melissa, Mikey's parents, children, grandchildren, Michelle and Crystal... Look to the hills from which your help, strength ,and joy comes from...God is ABLE to see you through.
