Obituaries – Their Stories Live On

Mr. Michael Sidney McCormick, Sr., 59, of White Sulphur Springs, WV departed this world on March 30, 2021 after a long illness to be united with his Heavenly Father.

Michael was born in Oak Hill, WV on December 17, 1961 to the late Wilbert McCormick, Sr. and Kathryn G. Logan McCormick.

Michael was a waiter at various restaurants for his entire career.

He was an avid sports fan and loved music. He was a man who dearly loved his family especially his sons and grandson. He loved to laugh and had a talent for making people feel special.

He attended schools in White Sulphur Springs and graduated from Greenbrier East High School.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Lindsey McCormick and beloved grandfather, Sidney Logan.

Left to cherish his precious memories are his sons, Michael Sidney McCormick, Jr. of White Sulphur Springs, WV and Sidney Rashawn McCormick of Union, WV; grandson, Malakia Triplett of Lewisburg, WV; brother, Wilbert (Doris) McCormick of Beckley, WV; sisters, Jacqueline McCormick of Capitol Heights, Maryland, Earline (Roosevelt) Neal of Beckley, WV, Alma Logan of Whipple, WV, Mary Logan (his caretaker) of Ft. Washington MD and Rosarita McCormick of Whipple, WV and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Some of his special friends were Joyce McCormick, James Byrd, Kayla Mann, Tracy Berry, Mrs. Mary Rush and Mr. Sonny.

As per requested, Michael has been cremated.

Family directed memorial service will be 11:00-12:30PM Saturday, April 17, 2021 at the First Baptist Church of White Sulphur Springs with Pastor Kathy Holland officiating.
