Mr. Nelson Sharrod Cox Sr., 33, of Beckley was blessed by God, to Mary Ann Cox of Salem, VA, on June 25, 1989, in Flint, MI.

Nelson departed this life and moved to his heavenly home on Tuesday, June 6, 2023.

Nelson was a 2008 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School, continuing to receive his Barber Certification. He was previously employed at The County Shop in the Crossroads Mall.

Nelson was an avid collector of shoes of all kinds and would freely give to those in need.

Nelson was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Nelson, and Gladys Cox; stepfather, Eric Cousins; uncles, Clifford Cox, Joseph Cox Jr., and Kenneth Cox Sr.; aunts, Alda Mae Cox and Belinda Ann Cox; great-uncles, James Lewis Cox Sr. and Joseph Cox Sr.

Nelson, in addition to his mother, leaves to cherish precious memories his son, Nelson Sharrod Cox Jr.; daughter, Lai’Lani Cox and his children’s mother, Kanesha Moore; brother, Steven Little; sisters, Iesha Cox and Alexis Harris; grandmother, Virgie Mae Cox Jackson; great-uncle, Howard (Jessie) Cox; great-aunts, Mary Cox Wiltz, Jeanette Cox and Barbara Cox Mizell; a host of cousins and friends.

Family directed memorial service will be 11:00AM Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at Heart of God Ministries, 1703 S. Kanawha St. Beckley with Bishop Fred T. Simms officiating.
