Obituary For Mr. Paul Burton
Mr. Paul Burton, 65 of Oak Hill, WV passed Wednesday, March 25, 2026.
Paul was born October 1, 1960 in Jamaica Queens, New York, he was the son of the late Howard I. and Verna J. Tuck Burton.
Paul graduated from Mount Hope High School in Mount Hope, WV, Home of the Mustangs; attended WV Institute of Technology, where he earned a bachelor's degree in construction engineering. He went on to earn an associate’s degree in Police Science and then entered The West Virginia State Police Academy, Institute, WV, completing on January 7, 1985. He served as a WV State Trooper for 18 years. Upon Retirement, he became the owner of M&B Floor Care, was a school bus driver for Braxton County Schools and a meat cutter for Kroger.
Paul was married to Annette Burton for 23 years and was as avid golfer in his spare time. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Paul, in addition to his parents, was preceded in death by brothers, Dallas Burton and Robert Burton.
Paul leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Annette; sons, Nicholas Burton of Beckley, WV and Brandon Burton of Weston, WV; daughters, Lindsey Burton of Beckley, WV and Isabella Burton of Buchanan, WV; stepdaughter, Heather McKinney of Oak Hill, WV; grandchildren, Sebastian, Taleigha, Trenton and Devantea Jackson, all of Beckley, WV; James Carter of Beckley, WV; and Ne’zere Sheppard of Beckley, WV; brothers, Michael Burton of Charleston, WV; Anthony Burton of Beckley, WV; sister, Kim Burton-Lowe of Mount Hope, WV; nephews, Shannon Burton of Charleston, WV, Channing Lowe of Beckley, WV, Adam Lowe of Mount Hope, WV, Terrance Grady and Sean Burton, both of VA; niece, Sheri Burton of Charleston, WV; great-nieces, Rae’lynn, Kyn’lee and Baleigh Lowe; best-friend since childhood, James Howard; most importantly his partner in crime his dog, Sadie and a host of family and friends.
Funeral service will be 12:00PM Tuesday, March 31, 2026 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church
142 Mool Ave. Beckley.
Friends, while wearing masks and observing social distancing, may view and visit with the family one-hour prior.
