Philip Douglas "Buck" Thompson, 54, of 320 Bair St., Beckley, died Monday, June 27, 2016.

Born April 25, 1962, in Beckley, WV, he was the third son of the late Elgin "Buck" Thompson and Madeline Gravely.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Gruen Thompson; sister, Carrie Thompson; paternal grandparents, Pete and Maime Thompson; maternal grandparents, Joseph and Carrie Gravely; and nephews, Ryo Wesley and Nathaniel "Lil Ricky" Thompson; and sister-in-law, Ann Thompson.

Left to cherish precious memories are his children, Philip Grant, Stephen Thompson, Rasheen Wallington and Kyra Thompson, all of Beckley; brothers, Lowell Thompson, Nathaniel (Doreen) Thompson and Stephen (Sandra) Thompson, all of Beckley; sisters, Lillian (Edward) Christian of Anniston, Al, Eileen (Clifford) Washington and Marquita Clay, both of Beckley; grandchildren, Jaiden Wallington and Isabella Thompson, both of Beckley; aunt, Mildred Hash of Winston-Salem, NC; uncle, Joe Thompson of Detroit, MI; special friend, Margaret Grandjean of Beckley; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be 1:00PM Tuesday, July 5, 2016, at the Ritchie & Johnson Funeral Parlor Chapel, 748 So. Fayette St., Beckley, with Rev. Walter M. Leach officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park, Beckley. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral parlor.
