Obituaries – Their Stories Live On

Mr. Phillip Lamont "Corn Dog" Gray, 50, of Oak Hill, WV died Friday, January 22, 2016.

Born March 8, 1965 in Oak Hill, WV, he was the son of the late Lee Phillip and Carolyn Ann Brown Gray.

Lamont attended Mt. Hope High School and was a member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, Carlisle, WV.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved son, Maurice Lamar McCain; brothers, Kareem Ali and Gregory A. Gray; nephew, RaSean Lee Gray; maternal grandmother, Martha Alexander; maternal step-grandmother, Ruth Brown; and paternal grandparents, William Gray and Louise Johnson Gray.

Those left to cherish precious memories are his devoted and loving wife, Fannie Mae McCain Gray; to this union, a loving daughter, Shanice LaMae McCain of Oak Hill, WV; sisters, Sheila (William) Johnson of Texas, Portia Gray of Mt. Hope, WV, Sabrina Gray of GA; brother, Robert Gray of Mt. Hope, WV; sister-in-law, Sharon McCain of Oak Hill, WV; grandfather, James Brown of Washington, DC; aunts, Shirley Gray of Oak Hill, WV and Patricia (Sherman) Beasley of Mt. Hope, WV; great- aunt, Catherine Gray of Mt. Hope, WV; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Funeral service will be 1:00p.m., Saturday, January 30, 2016 at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, Carlisle, WV with Pastor Charles Brown and Elder Robert Hicks officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park, Beckley, WV. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church.
