Obituary For Mr. Raymond Lamar "Spunky" Hicks

Mr. Raymond Lamar "Spunky" Hicks, 60, of Mt. Hope, WV died Thursday, June 16, 2022.

Born July 14, 1961 in Cleveland, OH, he was the son of Doris A. Harvey (Rodney) Gray of Mt. Hope, WV and the late Joe L. Hicks, Sr. He was a graduate of Mt. Hope High School, worked as a mechanic and was a former member of Red Star Baptist Church. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandmother, Thelma Harvey; uncles, William Jones and James Harvey and aunt, Jeanne Alexander. Left to cherish precious memories are his daughter, Quanita Woodson (Sharee Sr.) of Beckley, WV; granddaughters, Diamond and Quadriyyah; grandson, Sharee Jr., all of Beckley, WV; brothers, Greg (Bernita) Hicks Sr. of Jackson, MS, Joe (Valerie) Hicks Jr. of Snellville, GA, Scott (Miriam) Hicks of Albuquerque, NM, Douglas (Yolanda) Hicks of Douglasville, GA, and Terry (Nicole) of Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD; sisters, Joetta (Precious, Prince and Molly) of Orlando, FL and LaTisha (CoCo) Pitney of Lake Ridge, VA and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

As per his request, he was cremated.

Graveside service will be 12:00PM Friday, September 30, 2022 at Donel C. Kinnard Memorial State Veterans Cemetery, 130 Academy Drive, Dunbar, WV.
